Jennifer Johnson, ND, LAc is a Naturopathic Doctor and Acupuncturist specializing in primary care for women. Her approach blends evidence-based functional medicine with traditional Chinese medicine to support optimal health and wellness.

Her approach involves optimizing the foundations of good health and identifying imbalances that perpetuate disease. A thorough history, comprehensive lab work-up, and multi-modality plan are all part of this approach. Modalities include nutrition, nutrient therapy, herbal medicine, acupuncture, mindfulness techniques, lifestyle counseling, and pharmaceutical medications when appropriate. Treatment plans are collaborative, honoring each individual’s values and preferences and respecting treatments provided by other members of the care team.


Dr. Johnson received her Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine and Master of Science in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from Bastyr University in Seattle, Washington. She completed a competitive two-year women’s health residency in Portland, Oregon. Previously, she attended University of Washington, where she got a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry and biology and worked in a research lab studying a rare genetic disorder.


A native of the Pacific Northwest, Dr. Johnson enjoys spending weekends outdoors exploring nature. She previously worked as a piano teacher and still loves to play in her free time. She lives in Portland, Oregon, with her mouthy cat Marlowe.
